· Use a vinegar solution to clean the stain, consisting of one cup of white vinegar to two cups of water. Dip your white cloth into this solution and press into the stain repeatedly. Wait for 15 minutes. The white vinegar should help remove detergent and attract dirt left in your carpet.

· Blot your stain and carpet with lukewarm water. Then wait one hour or until the carpet dries.

· If your spill is bad, you can alternately place baking soda on the spill mixed with white vinegar and allow this mixture to dry. You can work this paste up using an old toothbrush.
